Miss Shalaka Sobti (née Paralkar), MBBS, DNB, FMRF, FICO, FRCOphth, is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus (squint) and adult cataract surgery. She is an NHS Consultant Ophthalmologist at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
She completed her medical and postgraduate ophthalmology training in India, followed by specialist fellowship training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, a renowned tertiary eye care centre. After moving to the UK, she continued her specialist training and completed a further fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, gaining advanced experience in complex paediatric eye conditions and strabismus in both children and adults.
With extensive clinical and surgical experience across India and the UK, Miss Sobti specialises in childhood eye conditions and adult and paediatric strabismus. She is also an experienced adult cataract surgeon, including routine and complex cataract surgery.
Miss Sobti is a Fellow and examiner of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and is actively involved in postgraduate teaching and surgical training.
She is committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate and individualised care, with a calm and family-centred approach to children and their families.
